Having working brakes is imperative if you're driving out on the road. Over time, the brakes on your car wear out due to normal wear and tear or a defect. When traveling at 60 MPH, for example, brakes that aren't fully functional can mean it takes your car 100 yards to stop on time, which is the length of a football field! You may need to get a brake inspection periodically based on recommended service intervals, the age of your car, the age of your brakes, or the time you last had them replaced.

Along with factors such as the age of your car and its components, there may be some indications that your car's brakes are defective or worn out and must be replaced more frequently. For instance, regular use of the brakes can cause the brake pads to wear out. This is a common situation, but if the problem isn't addressed quickly, it can cause the brakes to malfunction or not work properly, which is a safety hazard to you and other motorists out on the road.

If you hear odd sounds while braking, such as squeaking, grinding, or squealing, that's a sign you should have the brakes replaced or otherwise evaluated as soon as possible. Some cars have a built-in sensor that indicates when the brakes are worn. You'll either hear an unusual sound or get a notification through your car's dashboard. Either way, you will want to make an appointment with our service team as soon as possible! If you hear a strange grinding sound when you stop, it's a good sign that the brakes are worn and must be replaced. Along with posing a safety hazard, worn brakes can wear out your car.

If the car pulls to one side or another when you go to stop, faulty brakes may be the problem. An alignment issue may also be to blame, but one of our technicians can make a diagnosis.
